Rubik's Cube

Masterthecube.com now sells EastSheen cubes! Look in the products section!

EastSheen cubes and what the packaging numbers mean

EastSheen or East Sheen cube are identical to Rubik's cubes in a nutshell, the difference being that East Sheen cubes are known for turning much better than Rubik's cubes. M arketed as "Intellectual cubes" since the term "Rubik's cube" is patented, EastSheen intellectual cubes are renowned for their ability to turn fast and provide an edge when it comes to speedcubing as well as just cubing for fun.

EastSheen Cubes can be found on Ebay for a bit cheaper than the cost of the average Rubik's cube of the same size (meaning a 2x2 EastSheen costs less than a 2x2 Rubik's and a 4x4 Eastsheen costs less than a 4x4 Rubiks, etc.)

The only drawback being that most of the EastSheen distributors are outside of the United States. The most popular distributor Cube4you.com offers his cubes at reasonable prices, again the only drawback being that the cubes are located outside of the U.S. meaning shipping will take anywhere from 4-8 weeks.

One confusing thing is the labels the EastSheen cubes come with, no explanation is given so I will explain for them.

The East Sheen cubes come with a number of packaging options, and it can be broken down like this:

First letter signifies type of packaging, second number signifies type of cube (2=2x2, 4=4x4, etc)

Keep in mind that the actual cubes don't vary for every type, the only variable is the packaging the cubes come in.

So, for example A2, A4, A5 cubes, A EastSheen cubes come packaged in a thin plastic for minimal protection, this is for cubers who simply want the cubes for use and not collection, it is also the cheapest option if that is what you are interested in.

The next type of EastSheen packaging is C, C packaging is available for the 2x2,4x4 and 5x5. C packaging comes in a small box that provides protection during shipping as well as a place to store your cube when not in use. While a bit more expensive than the A options, it is worth the it in most cubers opinions.

Next up is the E packaging, E packaging is available for East Sheen 2x2,4x4 and 5x5's. EastSheens E packaging comes in a plastic protective package nearly identical to the packages a store bought cube comes from (Say, Wal-Mart or Target). These provide a good protection value as well as somewhere to store it, although it would not look quite as the next option.

The next option is for collectors, it is the M type packaging. The M type packaging is available for the EastSheen 2x2, 4x4, and 5x5. M type packaging will give you a small dome that is fitted to display your favorite EastSheen cube for all to see, this is the most expensive option but it is a worthy purchase for any serious cuber.

There is one final type of packaging to mention, it is P packaging. P packaging comes with both the dome and the box, giving you optimal options for storing your prized EastSheen cubes. The only negative aspect being that it is only available for the East Sheen 4x4 and 5x5.
